Manchester United Soccer Schools courses are an intensive soccer learning experience attended annually by 1,400 players from over 75 countries. Every player will be given a fascinating insight into how Manchester United Football Club prepare their youngsters so that they reach their optimum level performance.

 

During your stay with Manchester United Soccer Schools, you'll be given the opportunity to experience the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford Manchester United Stadium, the Manchester United Megastore and the Manchester United interactive Museum (Friday).

 

NEW for 2008:

  • Introduction of the Manchester United Soccer Schools Development Model across the soccer training courses. Through this Manchester United Soccer Schools will provide participants with the platform to be taught all the fundamental aspects of the game without detracting from the fun and enjoyment of the soccer course session, which remains the most important factor.

  • Special Youth Level session for Boys 16 - 18 years old

 

 

Manchester United Soccer Schools has designed soccer courses to meet the developmental needs of young players across the following age groups:

  • Junior: 8 - 11 year olds

  • Senior: 12 - 16 year olds

  • Youth Level: 16 - 18 year olds  (New for 2008)

Ever wanted to play at Old Trafford?

 

Each Manchester United Soccer Schools participant will have a shot at it

Compete in one of the Manchester United Soccer Schools skills tests and you could be walking out in front of 75,000 fans. On every Manchester United Soccer Schools Coaching Course you will take part in a number of unique skills tests. Designed using the club's coaches and players, these tests are specifically tailored so all participants, regardless of age, can compete on level terms.
 

One player from each Manchester United Soccer Schools course will be selected to compete in the World Skills Final which will be held at Manchester United Stadium Old Trafford during a Manchester United game (around October / November).

During the World Skill Final, you will be given the opportunity to win:

  •   A trip to a ‘Top International’ Soccer School

Manchester United Soccer Schools residential facility is located at Denstone College (Access Map), south of Manchester, it has been carefully selected to cater for the needs of individual and team players visiting from throughout the UK or anywhere overseas. Set in 100 acres of beautiful countryside, Denstone College is a safe and secure location boasts 7 full size grass pitches, 1 floodlit all weather pitch, an indoor sports hall, a swimming pool, tennis courts and a golf course.

 

 

Manchester United Soccer Schools students will be accommodated in the residences on site. Rooms are from twin (Senior and Youth) or Quad (Junior and Girls) to 16 in a dormitories, with ample toilet and individual shower facilities on each corridor. Rooms are lockable. Bed linen is provided. Three cooked meals are provided each day with a choice of menu always being available.

 

 

 

 

 

The course focuses on the technical, tactical, physical, mental and social elements of the game, developing players as individuals within 1v1 situations, as well as gaining an understanding of working as a team both in defensive and attacking situations. The course focuses on positional sense, communication, handling, footwork, distribution, crosses, organizational skills, kicking, agility and flexibility.

 

YOUTH PLAYER TRAINING COURSE: 16-18 year olds (NEW for 2008)

This advanced, intensive course gives older players a valuable insight into the opportunities that arise by staying in the game. As well as experiencing how Manchester United prepare their youth players for that next step, Manchester United Soccer Schools staff will be on hand to help the players create a vision of how they can progress in the game and the opportunities in football such as coaching, sports science and nutrition.

 

SENIOR PLAYER TRAINING COURSE: 12-16 year olds

Another intensive course designed to take the players to that next level by using their technique but also developing their game understanding of team shape, defensive responsibilities and attacking principles using the Manchester United philosophy. Players will also be encouraged to start developing a mature approach to their physical and mental preparation for training and matches.

 

JUNIOR PLAYER TRAINING COURSE: 8-11 year olds

This focuses on teaching the FUNdamental techniques of the game and showing players how to master these into skills. Tailor-made for junior players. With a fun and friendly atmosphere, soccer mad kids live and breathe the game for a week. Players will learn how to practice like their United heroes and can truly feel they are living dream as young United player.

 

GIRLS TRAINING COURSE: 8-16 year olds

Due to popular demand Manchester United Soccer Schools will be holding a “Girls Only ‘Training camp for 8-16 year olds. Girls from all over the world can enjoy taking their soccer development to a new level. This course is growing in numbers and has its own buzz that only girls can produce! The dedication to learning is evident each year with all Girls striving to reach their peak performance.

 

GOALKEEPER TRAINING COURSES: 8 - 18 year olds

Behind every great United team there has always been a great goalkeeper. Alex Stepney who played in the European Cup winning team in 1968, Gary Bailey twice FA Cup winner in the 1980s, Peter Schmeichel part of the famous Treble winners in the 90s, right through to Edwin van der Sar today. Manchester United have always placed an emphasis on finding the right man for the number one.

Airport Transfer Information:

Manchester United Soccer Schools provides a negotiated transfer service from Manchester International (MAN) Airport to the residential facility. All transfers must be pre-arranged. After collecting their luggage, students proceed through customs. Students are then met by a representative of Manchester United Soccer Schools who will be displaying a large sign or have a camp T-shirt.

You will need to inform us in writing of the arrival and departure time and flight details as soon as possible.

 

On Arrival, flights need to arrive on Sundays between the hours of 7:00am and 3:00pm (15:00). No pick ups can be arranged for flights arriving outside this time period, parents will need to make arrangements outside this time frame with taxis or other private transportation company.

 

For departure on Fridays, flights need to depart between 11:00am and 9:00pm (21:00). (if you leave in the morning or midday you will miss the trophy presentation at Old Trafford stadium (ends at 4:00pm) but if you won any prizes during your stay they will be given to you before your departure.) No drop offs can be arranged for flights departing outside this time period, parents will need to make arrangements outside this time frame with taxis or other private transportation company.

 

 

It is of vital importance that all necessary flight details are sent to Internet Sports Travel with the booking form or as soon as available. Manchester United Soccer Schools requires the exact flight information, including dates, airlines, flight numbers, arrival and departure terminal, and flight times.
