INTRODUCTION:

Arsenal Soccer Schools, in association with Exsportise, aim to provide a friendly, personal service throughout your soccer camps holiday. An unforgettable soccer camp experience for 10 to 16 year old is awaiting for you at 3 great sites in Southern England.

2008 will be the 20th anniversary for Exsportise with 20,000 campers having experienced unforgettable summer sports camps.

The Arsenal Soccer Schools camp is ideal for players who wish to improve their individual skills and knowledge of the game, whilst experiencing the unique Arsenal training and Exsportise camp atmosphere. This soccer camp offers students a fantastic opportunity to develop individual skills and learn new techniques with the chance to use them in game situations. Under the direction of professional coaches participants will also experience team bonding and pre-season training regimes. At the end of the programme we expect students will be fitter and more mobile than before. Plus they will know exactly what skills they need to work on for the future. Players are coached in drills on passing, dribbling, turning and speed. These are then put into practice through competitive play to improve their awareness on the pitch and develop their tactical skills.

A special girls only soccer camp session is available at Clayesmore College for girls 10 - 14 year old from July 27 to August 2, the program will be specific for girls learning and development skills. Since girls only soccer camp sessions are very rare in Europe, you cannot miss this one.

Arsenal Football Club is one of the most famous names in world football. The Club's established and respected sports unit has been operating for almost twenty years providing courses for youngsters in England and abroad.

Arsenal Emirates Stadium Visit:
[Sports Tourism Award 2007 by Visit London (London Tourist Office): SILVER Place for Emirates Stadium Tours - Arsenal FC]

All participants will have an option for a visit on Saturdays to the new Emirates Stadium, the home of Arsenal FC (only for 2 weeks stay since weekly campers leave on Saturday). (Note: in some exceptional circumstances, England soccer clubs close their stadia in the summer months with very little notice and therefore exact destinations and availability may need to change without prior warning).

In 2007, a few participants, during the month of July, were invited to the Arsenal Emirates Cup at the Emirates Stadium in London for an unforgettable day were they saw Inter Milan FC playing Valencia FC and Arsenal FC against Paris Saint Germain FC.

Option: English Classes as a Second Language.

After the morning soccer programme, students can join the Language programme in the afternoon:

The programme, devised by teachers who have been with Exsportise for many years, aims to get students involved and active during lessons by including:

- Projects centered around sports and living in England.

- Productive lessons – drawing from what the students know and improving this in active and fun ways.

- Topic-based activities in which sports play an important role.

Previous knowledge of English:  because everything on the camp English Language and Sports courses is in English, you will need at least one year’s English tuition before you come. Exsportise has lots of ways to help students get the most from their English Language course. For example: they have small classes of between 4 to 14 students. They assess students on arrival, and try their best to place everyone at an appropriate level (the maximum class size is 14 so they cannot always do this. They use a variety of group work and role play which makes it easy for students to get to know each other.  They integrate English studies with sports courses as much as possible, to create an enjoyable learning experience. Teachers pay special attention to the language needed for sports coaching and equipment. All Levels of tuition run from elementary through to advanced. They try to make sure all students have the language skills to manage well at camp, participate fully in their sports coaching, and enjoy getting around England on social outings and cultural trips. Plus, They actively encourage students at all levels to:

- Expand their English vocabulary.

- Improve their fluency, grammar and communication skills when speaking, listening, reading and writing.

- Build their confidence when interacting with others.

Advanced level students may take part in debates, write about sports themes, or explore English humor and culture.
